OK, here we go...

Lets make it official,

the time has come...
We have an anouncement
and a very special one!
Twelve weeks have passed
thats almost three months,
then in July at last...
Our baby will come!

Hooray! Tim and I have been anxiously awaiting the time when we can expect a new addition to the family.

We figured 12 weeks was a good time to show you all how much we have grown together.

Snowshoeing!

Last Saturday I went snowshoeing with my dad and uncle Tyler who is visiting from Chicago for Christmas. We went along the Bonneville shoreline trail, the other direction from last time. We hiked around the new Draper temple and the South Mountain area. It was so pretty, but man it was hard work! I have forgotten how much of a workout snowshoeing is. But thats okay, I am always up for an outdoor adventure.
This is dad. He is the pro at all outdoor excursions.

Cool nest I found. I think it is the nest of a hawk or something cool like that. Underneath the nest there was a deer nest but I couldnt get it all in the same photo.

Annual Girls Night Out 2008

Every Christmas since 8th grade we have all gone to dinner and temple square for the annual "Girls Night Out" it is pretty much the only time I see some of the girls so it is a great event. Jennifer Wheatley is the arranger (what is the real word for that?) and sets the whole thing up for us. Thank you! The girls that came this year starting from the top left are Brooke (Bonham) Miller, Amber (haslam) Gray, Mariah (beesley) Barker, Jessica Lamph, me Kara (fugate) Olsen, Taren (smith) Davis, Lora Hudson, Jennifer Wheatley, and Nikki Garfield.
Jennifer is a professional photographer so she takes all the pictures or sets the pictures up so they all look good. Temple Square is so pretty at Christmas time with all the lights. It was actually featured on a t.v. show that talked about the top 10 decorated Christmas locations! Cool huh...and it wasn't even a Utah created show! Go Temple Square.

Weird picture I know. Some of the girls wanted to do a picture of all them as a group of the single girls, so we thought it would be fun to do a picture of all the married girls . Three of them have kids...can you guess who?

My HaiR!!!

Oh and P.S. I dyed my hair Brown!! I thought I would try it out and see how it felt to be a brunette. I have never crossed these waters before and it is kind of fun-a good and fun change. I did it the beginning of November and since I do it myself I have tried out all kinds of fun red, chocolate, strawberry, and caramel hues. Super fun for me. I'm pretty sure blondes still have more fun though!

Row 14!

Last Friday Tim's cousin called and asked if we wanted some Jazz tickets in the upper bowl-way at the top. We are always a fan of going regardless where the seats are, so his cousin left the tickets at 'will call' for us. When we picked them up guess where they were at...Lower bowl, row 14! These were just straight across from the Jazz bench and super close to the players. It was really cool.
The Jazz played the Kings and blew them out ( that is one of few wins this season :( ) We had lots of fun and afterwards went down to the floor to get a picture. This was the closest I had ever sat at a Jazz game, actually probably closest seat for anything. Before the game we went to 'Five Guys Burgers and Fries' I Highly recommend. It is inexpensive and gooood. It was a great night, and nice to be able to go on a date with my hubby. The Monday before this game the company I work for had a Jazz night. Hoopes Vision sponsored a Jazz game so Tim and I were able to go. It was fun to be in an out of work element with my work friends. Dr. Hoopes Sr. and Jr. got recognized during half time for being the official Jazz Lasik provider and for doing The Jazz Bear's Lasik a few weeks ago. What a fun week.

Winner!

Keep in mind that Tim does not run as often as he hopes to, I think it has been since before we moved that he has really run at all. He got one practice run in a few days before the fact. So this just shows how amazing he is. On Saturday Tim won FIRST place in his age bracket of 20-29 year olds in the 5K race his boss's wife put on. Mind you its not some small thing, there were a few hundred people there and some good runners too! The race is put on mainly for high school cross country racers-if you have never seen them, they are good! Tim won 8th over-all which is mighty impressive if I say so myself. I wish I could have gone to take pictures, but he got a blue ribbon out if it regardless. Way to go Timmy!

Fire

Tim and I went hiking along the Bonneville Shoreline Trail off of Wasatch Boulevard in September (yes, it is now November) The leaves were just starting to change colors. I love that time of year, it is so pretty. We live by the mountains now so we have a great view. So anyway, I took the picture of a section of mountain that was so brightly colored, and then walking just around the bend it turned into...... Remember when Corner Canyon caught on fire. Well it was closer than I thought. Isn't it amazing what a fire can do? The mountain was actually still pretty in a different way, fascinating really. The trail continued just the same as before but looked like a bone carving through dirt, it reminded me of the Shadow Lands on The Lion King. So dark and lonely. I half expected to see tumbleweed blowing and a skull of a bull lying near the path. Weird.

I picked up some black dirt and it truly was ash. I didn't know dirt could turn into ash! It crumbled in my fingers. The branches were powdery to touch, and just left a dry taste to the air. I have never been so close to the remains of burn. It was all very interesting.

This is us climbing near the waterfall that separtated the lush green mountain from the black burnt mountain. The waterfall is little, but pretty. We tried to get it in the picture but you can only be so picky when you are using the ten second timer.

HaLLoWeEn!!

Halloween is my favorite holiday, I am still working on Tim, he doesn't seem to agree quite yet. I love seeing everyone's costumes, the fun, food, and decorations. It is a great time of year. Fall, so it usually isn't too cold, the leaves are changing and just the right chill in the air to give you that spooky feeling. Tim and I host a Halloween party at our cabin every year. It is so fun to see what people come up with to dress up as. This is the group this year. There were some witches, vampires, mummy, pool balls, bunny, strong man, priest, chef, and mechanic. It was great.

Sarah is pregnant so she fit very well in her 8 ball costume.

Tim and I were both monsters. He was a mummy which took us for ever to wrap and he was still "saggy" I was a gothic style vampire. The dark window hides most of the costume. I used an old velvet homecoming dress of mine for the occasion. I added sleves and made a cape.

Every year the Best family girls go to Witch's Night Out at Gardener Village and mill around looking at all the other witches and spooks around. It has become a fun tradition. Madison used my good witch costume, Grandma a good white witch, and me a bad witch. The face paint gave me a rash on my face! Ha!

My work had an awesome Halloween party and costume contest. Almost everybody got dressed up, it was great. There were some very creative costumes. These are the 'Weather Girls' the front desk receptionists. Snow, Sun, Rain Storm, and Wind. So creative.
But best of all, was our visit from the whole contingency of Presidential Candidates! None other than John McCain, Hillary Clinton, and Barak Obama.

There was a prize for the scariest costume decided upon by the doctors and out of all the awesome costumes to choose from, guess who won SCARIEST......
Barak Obama! With runners up, McCain and Hillary! So fitting for the season.

St. George

Tim and I took a long time needed vacation to St. George last weekend. My grandparents live down there so we were able to stay with them. It is always great to visit with them. Grandma even made her awesome Biscuits and Gravy for breakfast-a big favorite of ours.
We kept busy the whole time, hardly a minute to just sit. We went fishing Saturday evening at Quail Creek Reservoir just outside of Hurricane, it was my first time and Tim was such a good teacher that I even caught a fish! Tim caught one too but I wasn't around to take a picture. :(

That fish kept wiggling around and it scared me so to protect myself from getting touched by the fish I had to stare at it long and hard to detect any movement...my attempts were not successful. Tim got a good laugh at least
It was a cool experience regardless. Thanks Tim!

Tim LOVES to golf so as his wife I am 'obligated' to go too :). We went to some really pretty courses. Tim is really good, and I think I would rank at "fair." It was great weather and we had a lot of fun being out in the sun and fresh air. The more I go, the more I like it, so Tim may not be able to go golfing without me anymore. Sorry honey.

Getting ready to tee off. Tim is preparing to hit the ball over a lake. One of the golf courses had a ravine to hit the ball over...mine didn't make it. I lost a lot of balls at that course. Tim of course had no trouble.

This is my swing. I know there are a LOT of things that can be improved upon. Tim bought me golf shoes so I got a lot better. Ha.

Woo Wee, look at that stance. Looks just like a pro. And cute too!
I didn't get pictures but we went over to the Senior Olympics to watch some events and it was really cool. Who knew old people could be so athletic? They were really good. I had no idea that it was such a big event, people from all over the world came to St. George to compete!
All in all it was such a good trip. It feels so nice to just get away from everything and relax.

The BEST part....We Moved!

Good bye Wasatch Club :) We are so outta there. I do have to say we had a good two years in the 584 square foot apartment....no really. It is nice to be gone though. We have moved to a basement apartment in Sandy. We welcome any visitors, but beware that if it is during "Friends" or during a Utah Jazz game you'll have to pardon our laughing and cheering!!!

We borrowed a dolly and good thing; I'm not sure I could have carried my giant Costco sized Bisquik by myself! Phew!

I forget the order of these things. More motorcycle pics

Poor thing, a huge wilderness and this is all there was to eat.
Mirror Lake, one of the stops on the motorcycle trip
A quick stop on the way home to give their backsides a rest :)
What a handsome fella.

We are BACK!

Kara went to Youth Conference. We went River Rafting down the Colorado River. It was a BLAST! There was a family visiting from Paris for a few days so one of the river guides carved the family out of a watermelon.

The Fugate boys and Tim went on a motorcycle trip to Bear Lake. I am so proud of Tim for being brave and going. He is deathly afraid of motorcycles!! Everybody ended up having alot of fun

Rodeo...Bees Game

On the 24th of July we went to the Bees game with Reagan and Angie, Trevor and Sarah, & Drew and Katie. It was a fun game, there was a really good fireworks show afterwards that we went out onto the baseball field to watch. Tim and I went to the Bees game on the 4th of July as well, but that one wasn't as fun. It was SOOO crowded, we always get seats on the burm (grass behind the outfield) because its cheaper and more comfortable and on the 4th there was not a single piece of grass for us to sit on! We ended up sitting on the sidewalk behind people that would not sit down, so we didn't get to see any of the game. The firework show that night wasn't as good as the one on the 24th.

I have to bunch all of my exciting life onto this blog at one time since I don't have internet at home. So our last two weeks have been fun, we actually did something worth blogging about. On Monday we went to the Spanish Fork Rodeo. I have been going to this rodeo since I can remember only missing it a few times. My Fugate grandparents are originally from Spanish Fork so they came with us. This rodeo is the coolest one ever! They include some different events besides the common bull ride, bareback, etc. There is mutton bustin' where little kids ride sheep, and the trailor race where big fat men race to saddle and ride a horse (or donkey) it is so funny. I didn't get any pictures of the rodeo, just Tim and I afterwards-not in cowboy clothes I regrettably add.

Girls Camp

This is the whole gang. Plus the bishopric. We join with another ward since both of us have such small young women groups. This picture is kind of blurry-my camera is having issues and so is this font, I don't know why it changed colors all of the sudden. This is Sheryn my first councilor, she is great. In this picture she is finishing off the fruit salad for us. Waste not, want not!

I went to girls camp last weekend with the young women out by Scofield Reservoir. It was so much fun. I have never been out to Scofield and it was awesome, so pretty and quiet. We didn't get to go boating or anything just camping at a nearby stake owned campground. My girls are great. I don't think I could ask for better ones. We had some girls who have never been camping before EVER! So that was an adventure-they had a lot to learn. This picture is of some of the girls just being goofy.
